In June, the second iteration of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/knowledges.org\"><em>KNOWLEDGES<\/em><\/a>\u00a0the acclaimed art &amp; astronomy happening curated by Christina Ondrus took place at the Mount Wilson Observatory, famed location of Edwin Hubble&#8217;s discovery that our universe is expanding. Later in the month,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theicala.org\">ICA-LA <\/a>hosted an evening of LA-based VR artistry while the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fathomers.org\">Fathomers<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 an offshoot of the innovative Grand Arts experiment in Kansas City \u2013 threw an art &amp; science lunch to celebrate their collaboration with mycelium-artist-engineer Phil Ross, an old IFF friend. This weekend the Pasadena Arts Council and Art Center College of Design \u2013 site of two IFF exhibitions \u2013 are hosting <em>Free Radicals: Evolving Perspectives on the Convergence of Art and Science, <\/em>an interdisciplinary\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/free.eventbase.com\/event\/eventbase\/free-radicals-evolving-perspectives-on-the-convergence-of-art-and-science\/\">conference<\/a> of theorists, practitioners, writers and performers working at the art\/science interface. IFF director Margaret Wertheim gave <a href=\"http:\/\/theiff.org\/current\/events\/knowledges-mount-wilson\/\">a talk<\/a> about concepts of space at KNOWLEDGES and will be presenting the <em>Free Radicals<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/theiff.org\/current\/events\/free-radicals-conference-keynote\/\">keynote.<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a busy time in Los Angeles for those interested in the nexus of art &amp; science.
