June 21 \u2013 August 30, 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n From June 21 – August 30, the IFF\u2019s\u00a0Crochet Coral Reef<\/em>\u00a0will be on show alongside Leonardo da Vinci\u2019s celebrated\u00a0Codex<\/em>\u00a0Leicester<\/em>, the book containing his famous drawings of water. The exhibition, Leonardo da Vinci, the\u00a0<\/em>Codex Leicester, and the Creative Mind,<\/em>\u00a0at the\u00a0Minneapolis Institute of Arts<\/a>, is a rare chance to see da Vinci\u2019s original drawings and related water-themed theories, including his ideas about the cause of tides and origin of the moon. The wider exhibit surrounding the Leonardos offers an examination of the interface between art, science, mathematics and nature. As curator Alex Bortolot writes: \u201cThe exhibition is organized to explore ways in which \u2018thinking on paper\u2019, curiosity, and observation lead to innovation.\u201d In addition to the IFF’s Crochet Coral Forest<\/em> and a selection of newly curated miniature Coral Pod Worlds<\/em>, the show includes a special section devoted to the mathematics behind the Crochet Reef project.
