But do monsters mean the same thing in every culture? And what do they tell us about our own humanity? On Tuesday November 18, IFF Director Margaret Wertheim hosts a discussion about monsters in art, science and culture, with game designer\u00a0<a style=\"color: #990000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.leonardboyarsky.com\/\"><strong>Leonard Boyarsky<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(<em>Diablo III<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Fallout<\/em>), USC professor and multimedia artist\u00a0<strong><a style=\"color: #990000;\" href=\"http:\/\/charliewhite.info\/\">Charlie White<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and USC professor and folklore scholar\u00a0<strong style=\"color: #990000;\"><a style=\"color: #990000;\" href=\"http:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/cf\/faculty-and-staff\/faculty.cfm?pid=1012737\">Tok Thompson<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0The event is held in conjunction with the opening of the exhibition &#8220;What Makes A Monster&#8221; in the Treasure Room of USC&#8217;s Doheny Memorial Library.
